Welcome to the Simpson family scrapbook
The ancestors of David John Simpson, from the Cliffords of Bobbing Court to Athens, Lagos and Chelsea. It brings together the Simpson family and the families who married into it — the Cliffs, Okills, Perkinses, Pattendens and Wrights — from the family tree and old documents to photographs and family memories.
It is not the finished article, and there may well be mistakes. Much of it rests on online family trees, half-remembered stories and photographs with no names on the back. Everything still uncertain is marked To check in the scrapbook. If you know something is wrong, or can fill a gap, sign in and add it — your changes are shared with everyone straight away.

What's on the site
Finding your way around
- Use the tabs along the top to move between the five sections.
- In the Family Tree, if a box says “continued on chart 13”, find the page that covers chart 13.
- In the Scrapbook, the contents list on the left jumps to any chapter.
- Click any photograph or chart to see it larger. Click again, or press Esc, to close it.
The family tree
The charts are a fixed snapshot of the tree built on Ancestry. You will also be given a copy of that tree as a .ged file (GEDCOM, the standard format for family trees) to upload to Ancestry and build on yourself, and you have been invited to share the original tree there.
Adding to the scrapbook
Sign in, open the Scrapbook, and click Edit on any chapter, or Add a chapter for someone new. Add photos in the Gallery. When you save, every family member sees the change immediately — no more downloading files or merging copies.
Dealing with discrepancies
The discrepancy list in Library and resources shows every place where the records disagree, with the sources in conflict and the latest lead. When you settle one, mark it Resolved and note what you found; the count above goes down.
